Lesson Twenty-three

Hay que empapar al oído con el inglés todos los días. Si no entiendes nada, no te preocupes. El simple hecho de exponer el oído a los sonidos del idioma es lo mejor a largo plazo, pues tu oído se sentirá cómodo con el idioma.

 Aquí veremos por primera vez el prenombre “they” para la tercera persona plural.

“They” es tanto para masculino y femenino. La contracción “they’re” se prouncia “zer”

Are these men tall?

                                Yes, they are.

                                No, they’re not/ no, they aren’t

Are those women short?

                                Yes, they are

                                No, they’re  not/No they aren’t

Hay que formular preguntas con el mismo guion que hemos trabajado  en la lección anteriormente, ahora en plural.

Habras notado que hay dos formas alternativas de contraer “they are not “ (“they’re not” y “they aren’t”). Hey que aprender las dos, aunque a lo mejor solo emplearemos una.

“they”  y  “day“   son palabras bastante distintas. Por lo tanto, hay que tener mucho cuidado en pronunciarlas bien. Si quieres decir “they”, y no sacas la lengua, en realidad estas diciendo “día”.

Hay que machacar los pronombres demostrativos. Es muy importante dominar estas palabras ahora, si quieres hablar inglés perfectamente. La mayoría de la gente no lo hace y luego sufren las consecuencias

Son para sustantivos en plural.
